» Dissemination
and Exploitation (WP2)

|
|
Its mission
This module aims communicating and informing
about the project as much as possible. Moreover, its
wish is to get in contact with scientific and free software
communities, interested organizations and companies
in order to collaborate and make the project improve
to its best version. Therefore, documents, code and
structure of the EuropePKI solutions are available on the
tools implemented in the best way to let everything
open. In the long term, the product will be considered
as a reference in its field.
Detailed description of its tasks
T2.1 - Dissemination tools implementation
- Create of two web sites, a private and a public one, with forum and mailing lists.
- Set-up of a semi-monthly newsletter uploaded on the public site.
T2.2 - Dissemination activities
- Keep the web site operational, write the newsletter.
- Write the dissemination reports and prepare the project exhibitions.
- Collect data on the subject to get informed of every possible mean of propagation.
- Assist to as much as possible meetings and exhibitions.
- Promote the project in professional press articles.
T2.3 - Exploitation activities
- Position the product and the service.
- Appraise the skills.
- Write the exploitation policy.
|

» Requirement (WP3)

|
|
Its mission
The step "Requirements" highlights the needs for
the best free PKI solutions. Members of the consortium,
through brainstorming sessions managed by the
work package leaders, identify the requirements, as
end-users of the solution EuropePKI. At the end of this
stage, the project perimeter is defined.
Detailed description of its tasks
T3.1 - Requirements analysis
Analyse the brainstorming sessions to extract the needs.
T3.2 - Project perimeter and requirements
Fix the borderlines of the project to settle the cornerstone for more technical aspects.
|

» Design (WP4)

|
|
Its mission
This stage is in charge of providing specifications
for the trust centre, i.e. for the components and
the means of communication between them. The modular
design take into account standard compatibilities
and feasibility as well as innovativeness to
aim the delivery of a not yet available product, the
structure is adapted to existing and to come components
known by the qualified members. In the long term, a
draft version is delivered to allow next stages anticipation
in their work.
Detailed description of its tasks
T4.1 - Overall architecture
- Define the modules architecture for the different components: registration authority, certification authority, directory, client side components and smart card support.
- Install the protocols for communication between them.
T4.2 - Relations between core components
- Choose the protocols and ensure their safety.
- Design the interfaces between modules according to both state-of-the-art and well-known applications.
T4.3 - External interfaces
- Establish the specifications to make the product easy usable and adaptable in the client context.
- Specify the standards for the links between EuropePKI library and the customers.
|

» Implementation (WP5)

|
|
Its mission
It is to provide the part of the core code which
is needed to make the product operational, in
accordance to what was probed in the previous stages.
Detailed description of its tasks
T5.1 - Software components development
Develop the required components (key generator,
certificate management protocol standard, abstraction layer, logging
and administration modules).
T5.2 - Support on developed components
|

» Project Integration (WP6)

|
|
Its mission
The integration step aims to format the first final
EuropePKI solution. Moreover, this long and fundamental
stage delivers all instructions for a successful
installation of the downloaded products.
Detailed description of its tasks
T6.1 - Technical integration coordination
T6.2 - Architectural framework implementation
Supply an overall architecture to prepare the integration
of the contributed components.
T6.3 - Validation and qualification of components
- Document and ensure the conformance to specifications and
application programmer interfaces chosen.
- Report to the previous work packages.
T6.4 - Integration of the components
Integrate the components together and into the
architectural framework.
Test the solution with the new components and
feed back to the contributors.
T6.6 - Quality assurance and security validation
Adapt the criteria about quality and security to the integrated
product in relation with the work package 8.
T6.7 - Support for demonstration
|

» Demonstration (WP7)

|
|
Its mission
This final work package has the mission to assess the
choices for the deliverable products in terms of interoperability
and conforming to user's needs and security directives.
The EuropePKI solution is tested and demonstrated.
Detailed description of its tasks
T7.1 - Prototype platform set-up
- Integrate the software in an adapted hardware.
- Develop a web site for certification services, according to
the dissemination board.
T7.2 - EuropePKI demonstration
- Test the compliance and demonstrate the
abilities of the software.
- Highlight the applications
of the EuropePKI technology on the operational platform.

a purpose. This work package defines the context for
it, highlighting the relevant criteria appliable to
the components.
Detailed description of its tasks
T8.1 - Scope of the homologation process
Draw the scope of the process to point out which
components are prone to homologation.
T8.2 - State the security requirements
Clarify the conformity, security and efficiency
needs for the technical steps.
T8.3 - Security requirements
Supervise the respect of the security
in requirements all along the project.
